Hold Power “A” Flat Shot It’s a flat ground stroke that generates a relatively safe and controlled trajectory. If you are low on stamina, this is a good shot to use. It is also particularly good to use if: This is a higher percentage shot to make when on the run. A perfect return of serve by tapping the A button can yield a very desirable shot, especially if made down the nearest sideline.
This is your power shot. The pace of your shot will vary depending on how full your power meter is prior to the initial swing. Timing is more critical with the power shot, particularly when you are on the run. Utilizing power shots when you are low on stamina will likely result in unforced errors. The ball will have a lot of forward spin causing it to bounce shorter than the A shot. The drawback to heavy top spin is that it’s a bit slower than the safe shot, thus allowing your opponent a better opportunity of reaching the ball in time.
The advantage of using top spin however is that you can produce greater angles with it.

At least not for long. Such a rule of governing stifles innovation and hard work. It is, in essence, a bailout for the mediocre. Let me put this in business terms: It is not the fault of the Track Coach that the Soccer Coach chooses not to invest in the resources Coaching Education that will allow it to continue to earn a competitive share of the market athletes.
Following the basic principles of Free Market Capitalism that we hold as fundamentally American as apple pie the Soccer Coach has one of two choices: Most athletic departments will simply bail out the soccer team by inventing regulations to limit the success of the Track Coach even though the Soccer Coach has access to the same opportunities. Therefore, this hurts both the Soccer Coach and the Track Coach. In that instance, investments education by the Soccer Coach would yield better results forcing the Track Coach to invest educate more and competition would lead BOTH programs to greater profits results in competition and fun for the kids.
The Soccer Coach cries poverty or badmouths the Track Coach out of a stubborn, but psychologically predictable, refusal to acknowledge their own coaching incompetence.

Lacrosse Goalie The NCAA Lacrosse Rules Committee recently approved a change to the lacrosse goalie stick rules that should impact the way us goalies approach the game. The rule will kick in the season so I want to explain it here to get everyone up to speed and to start prepping goalies for the change for next season. With the game changing so rapidly and most of the equipment upgrades in the last decade benefitting offensive players, I believe the rules committee wanted to give a little advantage back to the goalies.
